Jane was the daughter of John Harper and Leah Maddux. I have info on the Rivers and Harpers but not on the Speer. In the Bethany UMC Cemetery in Fayette County is a grave for Eliza Ann Rivers Speir (wife of Zachary T. Speir but there are no dates on the grave. Neither is there s grave for Zachary, who is probably your Zachariah. The Fayette Cemetery Book gives Eliza's birth year as about 1847. This area was nearly adjoining Campbell County in the Fairburn area and often flipped back and forth between counties. My information on Eliza and the Rivers Family came from Mary Harper, an expert on these lines. I did articles on the families buried at Bethany. I will try to find the link. It was a long time ago. I will also try to find Mary's email address and send it with the link. Judy Kilgore Newnan, GA Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [GAFAYETT] searching for TURNER and Harris lines
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: Dor2Tyme Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.georgia.counties.fayette/1478/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am searching for Harris and Turner lines in the Bibb, Spalding, Pike and Lamar and surrounding county areas. Thomas Cain (sometimes spelled Kane/Cane) Turner born august 1860 and Sarah Harris born august 1864 (both birthdates from 1900 census) Sarah was the daughter of W.M. Harris and Roberta? Her age in census records varies as much as 5 years from year to year. Sarah's parents names come from her death certificate which might not be correct as we all know. Sarah possibly had a sister Ida May. They had sons: 1. Bonnie/Barney/Barnie R. Turner - born 20 May 1884/1885, died 21 Mar 1920 in Lakeland, Polk County, Florida - Wife Idella/Inez, no known children 2. Virgil Owens Turner - born 07 Dec 1889, died, 27 Mar 1934 Lakeland, Polk County, Florida . No marriage record found 3. James Perry Turner Sr., born 27 May 1893, died Sept 11, 1944 in V. A. hospital, Pinellas County, Florida but was living in Lachoochee, Pasco County, Florida With wife Minnie Vesta Ward Turner. Perry and Vesta's children were George Daniel, James Perry, James Clay, Bonita Ethlynd all born in Florida. 4. Charles A Turner - born July 1987 - I have been able to find no other information on Charlie other than the census up to 1920 and his military enlistment. On Thomas and Sarah's son's military enlistment papers they all say they were born in Griffin, Ga. or Macon, Ga. The earliest I can find them in the census is in Florida in 1900 in Pasco County Florida. That is where I get the birthdates and places for Thomas and Sarah. >From one census to the next Sarah's names changes from Roberta, Sarah to Martha although she is always listed as the mother of the children. According to the census and city directory records Thomas C Turner died between 1900 and 1910 as Sarah is listed as a widow in the 1910 census and in the 1913 city directory for Lakeland, Florida. She could of course been a grass widow but I find nothing to suggest that. I would love to find any information at all on these people, marriage records, parents, earlier than 1900 census records....anything is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
