    3. Rhonda, There are over 60 Masks buried in several different cemeteries in Fayette County. I will get the list together by cemetery with each persons birth and death date as it is listed in the cemetery book that I have. I will be sending you this information tomorrow evening. The grandchildren were here today and I didn't get a chance to work on it. Hope tomorrow will be soon enough. Before his death a petition was presented to the ordinary setting forth the fact that Mr. Brooks was a proper subject for the county farm, and when he died Butts county paid his burial expenses. It is announced now that the deceased has been awarded the sum of $754.00 by the government, the same being an old war claim. A son-in-law of Brooks in Fayette county has applied for letters of administration before the ordinary of Fayette on Brooks estate, while Mrs. Brooks, the widow of the deceased, has made application for letters of administration before Judge Carmichael in this county. The law is that the administration shall be obtained in the county where the deceased resided at the time of his death. This county is, therefore, the county from which letters will issue and Mrs. Brooks will be the administratrix and get that money in spite of all the son-in-law can do. The Argus congratulates Mrs. Brooks! 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: crmarkham Surnames: Mitchell, Murphy, Rush, Davis, Parrott, Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.georgia.counties.fayette/816.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The original poster of this message thread is my aunt. {Hi Aunt Ellie!} We are looking for the families of Casper Franklin Davis b. Nov 1879 in Fayette Co. GA, son of Marcellous Nimrod Davis and Catherine Louisa Parrot. Casper married Mary "Molly" Murphy, b.Sep 1880 in Fayette Co. GA, daughter of Charlotte Mitchell and William Taylor Murphy. Casper and Molly Davis are the parents of Bessie Lucille Davis Rush, b. 1913. Her siblings: Molly Jewell, Horace Franklin, and Johnny Raymond Davis. Bessie married Charles Edward Rush Sr. 14 Feb 1932 in Douglasville GA. These are my grandparents, and Ellie's parents. Casper Davis' siblings are Will, Texas (a sister), James, John, & Ella. We have very little information on William Taylor Murphy who married Charlotte Mitchell. Charlotte died before 1888, and William T. then married her younger sister Lurana Mitchell. Charlotte and William had 8 children: Lula, Dora, John, Sarah Lena, Molly, Nancy, Ida and Era Estelle Murphy. Lurana and William T. had twin daughters, only one of whom survived. Her name was Gertrude Murphy. Charlotte and Lurana's mother was a Hightower. That line is fairly well documented. It is mostly the Davis, Mitchell and Murphy lines that need more work. We greatly appreciate any help that can be given on these ancestors! Caroline Rush Markham Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
