Obit for Sudie Brinson Roberts Swainsboro Forest Blade 6 Nov 1996 Port Wentworth-- Services for Mrs. Sudie Brinson Roberts, 92, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Nov 6, 1996, from First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. She died Saturday, Nov 2, at the home of her daughter following a short illness. A native of Emanuel County, Mrs. Roberts was a member of First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth. She was also a member of WMU. Faithful Workers Sunday School Class and Happy Hearts. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters, Marry Ella Roberts and Ethel Hinley, both of Port Wentworth; a sister, Gladys Sample of Port Wentworth; a brother, the Rev. Frank Brinson of Swainsboro; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Thomas C. Strickland Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Obit for James W. Roberts Savannah Morning News 9 Jun 1991 James William Roberts, 89, of 828 Crossgate Road in Port Wentworth died Saturday after a long illness. The Twin City native was a member of First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth, the Pioneer Bible Class and was a former deacon and Sunday School teacher at First Baptist and Bonnybridge Baptist Church. He was retired chief of security for the Georgia Ports Authority. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sudie M. Roberts; two daughters, Miss Mary Ella Roberts and Mrs. Ethel E. Hinley, all of Port Wentworth; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services: 3 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth, burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Massey Funeral Home.
