    3. Swainsboro--Funeral for Mrs. Etta Virginia Thompson Brinson, 83, was held at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 23, 1997, from Hawhammock Baptist Church. The Rev. Cail Pressey and the Rev. Louis Pearce officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. She died Friday, Nov. 21, in the Emanuel County Nursing Home following a long illness. A native of Emanuel County, Mrs. Brinson had retired as a sales clerk from B.C. Moores’s Department Store. She was a member of Hawhammock Baptist Church and the widow of the late Rev. Frank Brinson and played an active part in his ministry. The Brinsons had been married 65 years. Servivors include a daughter, Barbara Curl of Rossville; three sons, LesterE. Brinson, Sr. of Big Canoe, Edwin Lamar Brinson of Evans and the Rev. Tracy L. Brinson of Cuthbert; three sisters, Leona Hicks of Warner Robins, Myrtle Price of Dublin and Nettie Wiggins of Swainsboro; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Grandsons and grandsons-in-law served as pallbearers. Honorary escorts were ladies of Hawhammock Baptist Church. Peebles, Curry, Durden Mortuary of Swainsboro had charge of arrangements.
