My local libraries do not. The closest library that has the onliine service is about 30 minutes from here. Their systems are very frustrating to use as they have a 30 minute use limit and are VERY slow. Just not worth the drive back and forth. I was just there on Thursday and about pulled all my hair out before I was done.... Tara BOBBIELC4@aol.com wrote: >Tara, > >You may want to contact your library. One of the best research sites I have found is the Godfrey Memorial Library in Middletown, CT URL: http://www.godfrey.org/. It is a subscription site, but it only costs $35 per year. You can sign up online and pay with a credit card, or you call the phone number they provide and give them a credit card number over the phone, or you can print out the registration form and mail it in with your check or credit card info. Your Godfrey Scholar membership gives you access to Heritage Quest including their census images and books online, to several different historic newspaper collections online including the Atlanta Constitution 1868-1925, to the PERSI Index, immigration and passenger lists, SSDI, and so very much more. You can search by surname, by state, or by collection. I have found it to be an extremely valuable resource that I use often.
