I read "somewhere" concerning the 1820 census, that some in the household were actually counted twice, due to how the age brackets were written. The 1820 columns read Males Under 10 == Males 10 to 16 == Males 16 to 18 == All Males 18 to 26 == Males 26 to 45. Example: If the household had a male 16 or 18 he could have been counted twice. If the head of household was 26, he could have been listed twice. Because of this confusion, the next census, 1830, categories read: Males under 5 = Males 5 to under 10 = Males 10 to under 15 ... etc. It's kind of self-explanatory but I would still like to find the source about this head count confusion? Thanks in advance, Claudia
