    3. Obit for Dessie Brinson Burgess SFB 9 Mar 1983 Mrs. Dessie Brinson Burgess, 76, of Savannah died Friday in Candler General Hospital after a long illness. The Emanuel County native was a member of First Baptist Church of Gardens City. Funeral was conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday from First Baptist Church of Garden City. Burial was Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Gardens. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Crager, Mrs. Frances Drinkwater and Mrs Anne Cowart, all of Garden City; a son, Gerald Staley Burgess of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Sudie Roberts, Mrs. Ollie Hill and Mrs. Gladys Sample, all of Port Wentworth; two brothers, Frank Brinson of Swainsboro and D.C. Brinson of Savannah; ten grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Obit for Stanley R. Burgess Savannah Morning News 13 Feb 1981 Stanley R. Burgess, 75, of 90 Rommel Ave. in Garden City died Thursday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a long illness. The native of Ispwaph, England, was a longtime resident of Garden City, where he was member of First Baptist Church. He was a retired self-employed construction contractor. Surving are his wife, Mrs. Dessie Brinson Burgess of Garden City; a son Gerald Stanley Burgess of Jacksonville, Fla.; three daughter s, Mrs. Mildred Crager, Mrs. Frances Drinkwater and Mrs. Anne Cowart, all of Garden City; a brother, Willie A. Burgess of Guyton; two half-brothers, Earl and Jack Burgess, both of Savannah; 10 grandchildre and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Garden City with burial in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Gardens. Terry C. Massey Funeral Home of Garden City is in charge.
