    3. Olivia, You may have this by now, but this is what I have on Jonas Meeks, Sr., son of Francis: > Children of Francis Meeks, Sr.: > > Jonas Meeks was born circa 1765 in North Carolina (see pg. 1389). His > family is in Hoover, pg. 51. He was living in Pitt County, N. C., as > late as 1787. He was in Glasgow County, N. C., in 1795. He married > first Kessiah -?-. They were living in Bladen County, N. C., during > the 1800 census. Their child: Allen (see pg. 1391). Jonas married > second Susan -?-. They were living in Marion District, S. C., during > the 1810 census. Their child: Jonas Jr. (see pg. 1391). He married > third Celia Tyson. [She was born circa 1790 in N. C. and was the > daughter of Frederick Tyson (Sr.). See Tyson Family in this section, > pg. 1525.] Their children: Stephen Stanley; Zilphia (see pg. 1391); > Susan (see pg. 1391); and Tracy (see pg. 1391). They were farming in > Emanuel County, Ga., during the 1820, 1830, 1840 and 1850 censuses. > In 1850, they lived next door to their son, Stephen. Nancy Gordner, > born circa 1790 in N. C.; Francis Williams, a farmer, born circa 1827; > and Benjamin Wilson, a farmer, born circa 1832; were listed with them. If you can decipher the above, you will see that I have three wives for Jonas Sr. Hoover refers to a book by Mattie Hoover Meadows, The Hoover, Brantley, Wilson, Meeks, Stevens, Bloodworth, Wheeler, Nunn and Other Related Families. (Swainsboro, Ga.: Magnolia Press, 1987.) Clyde Olivia wrote: >1.
