    3. Obit for Frank L. Brinson Swainsboro Forest Blade 11 Oct 1997 Swainsboro--Funeral for the Rev. Frank Lester Brinson, 89, was conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, Sep 29, 1997, from First Baptist Church of Swainsboro. The Rev. Cail Pressey, the Rev. Kenneth Youmans and the Rev. Louis Pearce officiated. Burial was in Hawhammock Baptist Church Cemetery. He died Friday, Sept. 26, in Emanuel Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of Emanuel County, the Rev. Mr. Brinson was ordained in June 1957. He served Hawhammock, Nunez, Oak Chapel, Pleasant Hill, Friendship, Downs and Mt. Olivet Baptist churches. He was pastor emeritus of Hawhammock Baptist Church. The Rev. Mr. Brinson served as chaplain of Georgia House of Representatives three times and also served as Emanuel County Hospital chaplain. He performed more than 500 funerals and 300 weddings. He was recipient of the Woodmen of the World Man of the Year Award and was chosen 1997 Emanuel County Nursing Home Resident of the Year. Survivors include his wife, Etta V. Thompson Brinson of Swainsboro; a daughter, Barbara Curl of Rossville; three sons, Lester Earl Brinson, Sr. of Big Canoe, Edwin Lamarar Brinson of Evans and the Rev. Dr. Tracy L. Brinson of Cuthbert; a sister, Gladys Samples of Port Wentworth; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Pallberers were grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Hawhammock Baptist Church and Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, area ministers and Johnny Garrett. Peebles, Curry, Durden Mortuary of Swainsboro had charge of arrangements.
