Matthew Lewis Boatright (Copied from The Savannah Morning News, 23 Dec 1953) Swainsboro, Ga. Mathew Lewis Boatright, 71, died at his residence on Route one, Swainsboro, Tuesday night after a long illness. A native of Emanuel County, he was the son of the late Stephen and Dora Logue Boatright. Survivors are his wife, the former Essie Lena Coleman; three daughters, Mrs. B.M. Rich, Millheaven, Mrs. Nandora Curl and Mrs. John Donehoo, both of Swainsboro; four sons, Edward, B.J. (sic, R.J.), both of Swainsboro, Cecil and Osborn, both of Twin City; three sisters, Mrs. Sallie Fortner, Savannah, Mrs. Remmer Green, Bartow, and Mrs. J.C. Logue, Augusta; two brothers, Bruce, Augusta, and Ernest, Wadley; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was a member of Hawhammock Baptist Church near Swainsboro, where services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. by Rev S.C. Garner and Elder Rollie Riner. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews. Swainsboro Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
