I tried to find the Manning HART family in the 1900 Census, but had no luck looking under his name or his wife's name or any of the known children. Then, I decided to look in Emanuel County for all wives named Nancy who were born within 2 years of 1868. Here's what I found: 1900 US Census: Emanuel Co., GA - GMD 1208, District 107; Household 144/145: MANING, Heart 39; born Mar 1861; married 17 years (the Census taker reversed the names!) Nancy 32; born Apr 1868; 10 children, 6 living Wyley 16; born Aug 1883; son Hattie 11; born Feb 1889; daughter Jessie 7; born 1893; son Clarrie 4; born Sep 1895; daughter I was surprised to learn that there were more children, other than Willie/Wyley, Hattie, and Clara. Now, if 6 children were living, who were the other 2 and where were they? The 1910 Census states that Nancy had 4 children, 3 of whom were living. Presumably, Jessie died young, since Willie is said to have moved to Florida.
