She was a native of Bulloch County, but had lived in Swainsboro for the past 59 years. She was a homemaker, and a member of Antioch Primitive Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Rudy and Mary Durden of Jacksonville, FL, and Elder Mickey and Sylvia Durden of Oak Park, GA; one daughter, Lilla and Pat Patterson of Glennville, GA; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 10, at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder John Shelton Mikell officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Don Fordham, Clisby Fordham, Jerry Fordham, Burney Fordham, Loche Fordham, and Carlyle McCorkle. Memorials can be made to the Antioch Cemetery Association, C/O J.W. Gross, 76 Dunford Sconyers Road, Twin City, GA 30471. Tomlinson Funeral Home of Swainsboro, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
