My father and grandfather, Sumner Field, went to AL for work; they were brick masons. My grandfather must have gone to Mobile first and met and married Bessie Summers. Then they must have moved on up to Clarke County and Leroy married Martha Louise Benson. Sumner Field must have been in WW1 and that is why he was buried in the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. He died in the VA hospital in Oteen, NC. My father was in the Navy and he died in the VA hospital in Memphis, TN on Jan. 23, 1953. They both died of tuberculosis.
