Here is my paragraph on John: John Esra Claxton was born June 24, 1884, in Johnson County, Georgia. He married Rilla Kight Dec. 7, 1903, in Johnson County. [She was born Jan. 30, 1887, in Johnson County and was the daughter of W. General and Susie (Tharpe) Kight.] Their children: Eddie; Bessie, who married L. Ranzy Mixon; Clifford; Albert; Pauline, who married Henry Lee Josey; Maudie Lee, who married first James Allen Killingsworth and second Julian Leonard "Mack" McLendon; and Ruby Inez, who married Windham Allen Josey. From 1916 through 1933 John was in law enforcement, as Johnson County Marshall and policeman for Kite, Georgia. He died July 12, 1946, and Rilla died on Feb. 2, 1973.
