D. Smith's place, about three and a half miles from Swainsboro, was almost instantly killed by a fence clamp, which slipped off the end of the wire last Thursday, striking him on the right side of the head and crushing in his skull. Death followed within about twenty-eight hours after he received the blow. Mr. Covena leaves a wife, having been married only two months. Besides his wife, he leaves his father, two brothers and four sisters to mourn his death. Frank had started life with all in his favor, and it is sad to see a life so full of promise taken so suddenly but the All wise Father knows best. He was buried at the family burying ground near Smithton last Saturday. Mrs. Covena was Miss Annie Canady before her marriage.
