Sue, Warren Jackson "Jack" WILLIAMS was the son of Washington WILLIAMS and Messener (SP) HALL WILLIAMS. Refer to my postings on the Washington WILLIAMS family in the 2004 Archives, around February. Did you mean Gum Log Cemetery in Johnson County, GA? I don't think there's a Gum Log Cemetery in Emanuel County. I don't have one listed in my "Cemeteries of Emanuel County Georgia" by Moses M. Coleman, Jr. I did not have where he and Rosa were buried at or dates. Thank you! Looking at the census records it appears that the birthdate on his headstone is incorrect, not surprising as the date on his brother Richard Washington WILLIAMS is incorrect too. I do believe that he was born around 1845, as his age is consistent in 1860, 1870, & 1880 census. However he appears to have aged 10 yrs. (LOL) in the 1900 census (age listed as 66) which should find him around 55 years old. If I can ever locate the Washington WILLIAMS family in SC in the 1850 census hopefully it will shed more light on this family. So far no luck, although oral family history has them coming from somewhere around Edgefield County, SC. Here is some census info on Warren J.
