    3. Hello list, I am researching the family of James Marsh of Emanuel Co Ga. I am interested in any help with this information, taken from the U.B. Marsh book: Grants for Military Service-Georgia. Source: Ga Archives. "Identical land bounty certificates were issued to ELIJAH MARSH, JOHN MARSH, and NATHAN MARSH and each requested the grants to be 287 1/2 acres of land in Washington Co, Ga.* The certificates stated: "State of Georgia: This is to certify that John Marsh* has steadfastly done his duty since the passing an Act at Augusta to wit 20th August 1784 until the total expultion of the Brittish from this State and that he cannot to my knowledge or belief be convicted of plundering or disrupting the country is therefore under Said Act entitled to a bounty of 250 acres of land. Given under my hand this 8th Sept., 1784. (s) Elijah Clarke, Col. By his Orders(s)______Freeman. *Identical certificates issued to Elijah and Nathan Marsh. *Washington Co records destroyed; extant only from 1865, Burke Co records extant only from 185-." I know that the Nathan Marsh mentioned here settled in old Glascock, now Warren Co Ga. Who were John and Elijah? Does this mean the three men served in the Georgia militia during the Revolutionary War? Also, I know that most Burke Co records were destroyed, is this also true of Washington Co? Also, does anyone have the current e-mail address for Faith Marsh Hand? I would appreciate the information, but please send privately. Also, in the 1827 Ga land lottery, a Martha Marsh of Washington Co Ga won land in Troup Co Ga. Who was she? Any help would be greatly appreciated, Carol B. Miller
