    1. obit for Ginsey Tison, wife of Gideon
    2. Benjamin Folsom
    3. Other than her death date, Ginsey's obituary gives little genealogical information. However, it does give an account of her efforts during the war. This obituary appeared twice in Sumter County, Georgia newspapers; 29 August 1877 in the Semi Weekly Republican and 31 August 1877 in the Weekly Republican. DIED On the morning of the 24th inst., at her home in this county, MRS. GINSEY TISON, consort of GIDEON TISON, aged 53 years and 2 days. "Aunt Ginsey" was noted for her kindness of heart, and for unremitting efforts to relieve the sick and all manner of suffering humanity in her reach. During the war her best efforts were directed toward the mitigation of the ills attending the temporary widowhood of the soldiers' wives in her community, many of whom will doubtless drop tears of regret when they hear of "Aunt Ginsey's" death. She was a woman ever ready to commend good deeds, and would have no fellowship with wickness. For twenty-five years she was a consistent member of the Baptist church, and died strong in the faith of a blessed immortality. She leaves a husband, five children and many grandchildren to mourn her departure. She retained consciousness unto the end, and spoke calmly to those around of her hope of heaven urging them to meet her there. "Aunt Ginsey" 's laid beneath the sod, Her soul has winged its way to God. G. R. Judith
