Obit for John A. NUNN Swainsboro Forest Blade 10 Aug 1961 Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. for John A. Nunn, 44, of Swainsboro, who drowned while swimming Saturday in a pond near his home. Services were held at the graveside at Hall Cemetery, near Swainsboro with Rev. Kenneth Youmans and the Rev. Robert Steinberg officiating. Pallbearers were Carlos Logue, Rufus Hannah, Melvin Nunn, Henry Gene Lamb and Johnny Curl. The accident occured at 11:30 a.m. Saturday and the body was recovered at 4:45 p.m. by Emanuel County Sheriff Josh Lewis and local residents who had joined in the search. An Emanuel County native, he was the son of the late Aren Nicholas Nunn and Mrs. Eva Rich Nunn of Swainsboro. In addition to his mother, Mr. Nunn is survived by his wife, the former Ruby Adel Vaughn; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Nunn and Martha Dianne Nunn, both of Swainsboro; a son, John Lee Nunnn of Swainsboro; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Curl of Thomson, Mrs. Madie Fennell of Swainsboro, and Mrs. Alma Vogel of Atlanta.
