May I butt in and make a suggestion? During our last trip we ate lunch (11am-2pm) at the Coleman Inn. The have a buffet as well as a kitchen. Food was good and reasonably priced and you can't beat eating in a large old (well-kept) home. They don't do dinner. Also, there is a good restaurant 20-25 minutes north of Swainsboro on Coleman's Lake - called Coleman's Lake Restaurant. Expensive but the food was excellent. Out of Swainsboro, take 56N, 15 miles or so until you reach a road that heads off to your left (RIGHT before the county line with Jefferson). There is a sign for the restaurant, the lake, as well as for a nearby bed and breakfast. You can't miss it. Just follow the signs. Finally, there is a small bar/restaurant on the square. I don't recall the name but it was the only one on the square (just west of US1 N). My husband ate there and enjoyed the meal.
