During my trip I bought several books in Emanuel and Jefferson County. I'm going to offer lookups but just one book at a time (otherwise I'll loose my mind). First book: A History of Saint George Parish Colony of Georgia, Jefferson County, State of Georgia by Marion Little Durden (2004). Please make your requests as specific as possible. It's not a large book, but it does contain some history, marriage entries, and will extracts. When the requests for this book die down I'll offer the next one. Scruggs is listed as a witness to the call, on August 11, 1849, of Dr. David Gardner Phillips for minister of the church. He's also listed as a member. Page 154 Bartow Methodist Church Hguh Scruggs is listed as a member of the church and part of the board of trustees for the church. A date isn't given but it wasn't formed until about 1880.
