Emanuel County Historical Preservation Society is hosting a Sam's Drive-In Reunion called "Save the Rocket Benefit". The Society was given the rocket that stood at Sam's by Billy Johnson at Maryland Fried Chicken. We have a fairly new band called Sam's Drive-In Band member Phil Wilson has written a song called "Riding around Sam's all night long". The band is doing a concert on Saturday night, July 12 at the Jaycee Fairgrounds. The Society's Farm and Home Museum located across the road from the Fairgrounds will open at 5:30 to 8:00 to view the rocket. A 50s-60s-70s- Cruise-in car show at the fairgrounds from 6 til late. The concert and program will begin a 8 p.m. Come and bring your lawn chair for a night of remembering good ole memories at Sam's.
