    3. Does anyone know this woman?? Emanuel County Marriages: Lillie Bell KEMP & Ellis CARY - 02/11/1918. Performed by Elder W.A. Rich. I've been looking high and low for Miss Lillie's family but cannot find them anywhere.  The story goes that shortly after she married Ellis, Lillie ran off with another man.  She is said to have died in a storm in Tennessee.  Her male friend (don't know who he was) survivied and supposedly returned to his family in Georgia.  Ellis waited seven years after her disappearance so she could be declared legally dead then he was legally able to marry again. His 2nd wife was the much younger Georgia Bell Coleman, daughter of Henry George Coleman & Maude Ammie Allen.  Their first child was my mama, Mary Lue. I suppose I can't blame Lillie much for running away from her husband -- by all accounts, Ellis Cary was a mean, violent man -- but I would like to place her with parents. Mama said she was told that Lillie was a WHEELER, but according to the marriage record listed above, she was a KEMP. Ideas, anyone?? Carol Riner Everett
