Mike, Olivia and others, As we have discussed on this list before, Reuben Curl left his wife Mary Jemima Thompson, evidently, and was found in Windsor, Aiken County, South Carolina in 1880 [census] with a new wife and two daughters, 6 and 1 month. Interestingly, Mary Jemima reported in 1880 that she was married... By 1910 Reuben was back in Emanuel County with his second wife and younger daughter, Laurania. Thanks, Olivia, for finding the pension application!! I had thought the second wife was named Louise but in 1910 census her name is hard to see. Does anyone know the date of Mary Jemima's death or her burial place??? I have a feeling she is at Ebenezer.
