Denise: Did you receive my e-mail to the List of June 30th? I have the death certificate for Elizabeth Faircloth who married George Allen Youngblood. Whoever sent it to me, I don't know. It states that her parents were Zanie Simmons and Bonie Faircloth, both born in Swainsboro. I'm soooooooooo confused! The informant's name is not very clear, but looks like Mrs. John Stevens (with same address as Elizabeth). It gives Elizabeth's birthdate as December 7, 1867; I think the typist transposed the 67, because we have 1876 for her birthdate, as 1880 census gives her age as four. Do you, or does anybody on this List, have information on a Zanie Simmons? Olivia
Yes, I have received your email to the List on June 30th and have just responded. Like you, I am confused, but here is my rationale based on conjecture unless otherwise stated. 1. I'm assuming that Gracey Jane and Zanie are the same person. Her fourth husband was Alexander Barnabas "Boney" FAIRCLOTH. 2. I think that Elizabeth FAIRCLOTH and Andrew Jackson FAIRCLOTH were their children. While the 1880 census is ambiguous as to the mother of these children, and it may have been Angeline/Annie, Elizabeth FAIRCLOTH YOUNGBLOOD's death certificate states that her parents were Zanie SIMMONS and Bonie FAIRCLOTH. 3. According to my database, Gracey Jane/Zanie FAIRCLOTH died in 1898. Do we know when Boney died? Is it possible he preceded her in death and she took a 5th husband, Mr. Simmons? If yes, when Elizabeth FAIRCLOTH YOUNGBLOOD died in 1945, her mother's surname may have been SIMMONS. 4. I'm assuming that Angeline and Ann/Annie Jane are the same person. 5. I think William FAIRCLOTH/GOFF (son of William Green GOFF) was her son (see 1900 census). Thus, Elizabeth FAIRCLOTH YOUNGBLOOD and William FAIRCLOTH/GOFF would have been first cousins, instead of half-siblings, and it would have been reasonable for them to have relocated to northern FL together as they did. 6. Andrew Jackson FAIRCLOTH's wife was Willa STEVENS. Since Andrew Jackson FAIRCLOTH and Elizabeth FAIRCLOTH YOUNGBLOOD were siblings, perhaps the informant on her death certificate was related to Willa. Here is a mystery... In the 1880 census, Annie, age 30, living with Boney and Jane, is listed as "cousin." Who's cousin? If she is Angeline FAIRCLOTH, she would be Boney's sister and Jane's sister-in-law. Not sure any of this helps, but let me know if you'd like to pursue farther. Is this discussed Death Certificate information from Florida. I would love the information and or copy as she is part of the YOUNGBLOOD clan The one I am looking for would have passed away in middle Florida by Ocala. Some of the other YOUNGBLOOD group are buried around there.
