<< Can anyone tell me if Mary V. Lamb b. 1857, d/o John Green and Sarah Lamb married Washington Lester Proctor? >> I show her as his 2nd wife. 1880 US Census: Emanuel Co., GA - District 50; Household 313: PROCTOR, W. L. 35 Mary 22; wife Linna 2; daughter Marietta 3/12; daughter PROCTOR, Eliza 67; mother Eliza 29; sister Now look at this: 1900 US Census: Emanuel Co., GA - GMD 1333, District 108; Household 83: PROCTOR, Washington 53; born Jul 1846; married 23 years (crossed it with 16 years written) Mary 45; born Oct 1854; 7 children, 7 living Annie 15; born Mar 1885 Florence 13; born Oct 1887 Archer 12; born Mar 1888 Hattie 10; born May 1890 John 9; born Jan 1891 Bessie 6; born Mar 1894 Clayton 4; born May 1896 Note the 1900 Mary says she had 7 children, all of whom are listed with them. Is it possible that Washington married 3 times? The Mary that Olivia mentioned must be the one listed in 1900. That could explain why her birthdate on the tombstone did not match Mary Lamb. What do y'all think? Carol ____________________________________________________________________________________ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile.
