If you know of any other patterns that would be niuce to know... I guessed at charles Wife's maiden name of Hilliard because of Charles Hilliard Davis. I know a good bit about his offspring from both his 1st and 2nd marriage. In fact I just learned of something this week of a relative from the child of his 1st marriage ( Mary F. Davis) who married a Charles Atkinson. My cousin Barbara Davis ( Father; Thomas Dempsy Davis)is currently married to a Charles Atkinson, son of Charles Jr.whose father married Mary F. Davis.... small world... I have not heard back from Tom as of yet this morning on the charles question. But in the case of Joseph "Jugger", they waited to the last son ( Joseph L.) to do this. I am wondering what the L stood for and if it was also Jugger's middle name ( Lawson, Larkin are the only known "Ls" for that era we know of)..... I strongly suspect that Charles records will be found in SC where Jugger states he was born. Apparently, just like counties, states were also dividing up land between property lines and parts of SC (today) were at one time in Ga, NC, TN Ky. Also, at one tiime there was a large island in the Savannah river that had a town on it larger than the town of Augusta at the time. It is now flooded over. I dont know if it was Ga. or SC. But I have an idea that jugger came from a county just east of what is now Glascock, Warren or Emanuel in Ga. across the Savannah River. Of course at present, this is just a theory.
