Carol: One of us has the Moore info wrong. My research has proven to me that Thomas D. Moore and James B. Moore were sons of Manning L. Moore and Mary Ann Rowland. Their first three sons, John A., James B., and Manning C., were born out of wedlock and their names were legally changed from ROLAND to MOORE February 22, 1850, by Manning Moore. Manning and Mary Ann were married in Emanuel Co. April 20, 1847; therefore, Thomas D., born July 1849, was legitimate. Olivia 1850 Emanuel Co., GA; District 28, Household 490/490: Manning Moore 35 Mary Ann 25 John 5 James 4 Manning 2 Thomas 11/12 (et.al.) Next door is James L. Moore 37 living alone, and it is my understanding he never married. 1860 Emanuel Co., GA; District 54, Household 381/388: Manning Moore 46 Mary 39 John 15 James 14 Manning 13 Thomas 10 (et.al.) Two houses away is James Moore 47, living alone. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol MIller" <cmiller20@comcast.net> To: <gaemanue@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, February 01, 2010 8:03 AM Subject: Re: [GAEMANUE] Dempsey Moore, Mary Ann Thompson, Dempsey's mother > Tina, > > I don't do a lot of Moore research since this isn't a direct line of mine, > which is why I was asking for help.
