Olivia, That's what I have, except for the adopted part. I didn't know about that. I have Thomas D and James B, and also John, as sons of Manning Moore and Mary Ann Rowland. Then, I have Manning Moore and Jesse Moore b 1800 who married Epsabah Hayes or ???, as sons of James L Moore b 1777 and his wife Elizabeth Manning. I have Manning Moore's birthdate as 1814, but he had a son named Manning also, born abt 1848. I don't know who the James L age 37 was who lived next door to Manning, age 35, in 1850 Emanuel Co. It does get confusing! My research has proven to me that Thomas D. Moore and James B. Moore were sons of Manning L. Moore and Mary Ann Rowland. Manning and Mary Ann were married in Emanuel Co. April 20, 1847; therefore, Thomas D., born July 1849, was legitimate. That James, age 37, is Manning and Jesse's brother. He never married. I thought that was the one you said was the father of James B. and Thomas D. Yes, it is confusing. These people didn't know about trying to name their children something other than the names of their parents, aunts and uncles, and brothers and sisters. Hard on us folks now who are trying to figure them out. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol MIller" <cmiller20@comcast.net> To: <gaemanue@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, February 01, 2010 12:10 PM Subject: Re: [GAEMANUE] Dempsey Moore, Mary Ann Thompson, Dempsey's mother > Olivia, That's what I have, except for the adopted part. Olivia, While we're on the subject, then, who do you think was the father of Mary Ann Rowland's first three children? Also, I did notice that you named a Hepzibah Hayes as Jesse's wife in a past post..
