Sabra and Susannah Drew were the daughters of Levi Drew. I think Wilson may have been the grandfather or otherwise related. (the Wilson that served in the Rev. War) Also, I have glanced over info and found no concrete evidence of a John J. Stroud that was the son of James or Thomas, though each did name a son John. I think I recall John and Susannah's son John listed as John W and John J. on some boards. To add confusion there is another John Stroud that married a Susan in the late 1800's. Since John "JR" (of John and Susannah Drew Stroud) was born 1862-1863, he apparently was a "war" baby. 1880 census lists him as 17 which would put yob as 1863. Now that I have found documents that show John was wounded and sent home on furlough, this date makes more sense to me. And if he were born in 1862-(possibly late in the year, who knows for sure? ) imagine how that might have been for them when Dad came home wounded and then had to return to war. Sobering, sad and melancholy. Makes one appreciate what military families go through at times. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
