I didn't recall the names LYTHA or LYTHAN ANGELINE (it's a pretty name), So I did some checking and found other versions of her name: TALITHA A. STEVENS b. (1856), LITHIA ANN or ELITHA ANN. It turns out that she is a sister to my Great Grandmother, AMANDA ELIZABETH STEVENS. They were both children of JAMES A.STEVENS and ROXIE ANN HALL."MANDY" was married to EDWARD L."NED" GREEN, son of JOHN W. GREEN and NANCY MCGAR. I just saw the new photo of the headstone of JAMES S. STEVENS, posted by marshella11. It's a beautiful photo, but the headstone itself is sadly broken in half and it could use some cleaning. I would love to help with that, if I lived closer. I'm wondering what death date is on that headstone for JAMES, since it is posted as 28 Oct 1886 and 28 Oct 1896, and don't know why? They are buried at the STEVENS FAMILY CEMETERY on STEVENS Cemetery Road between Summertown and Midville. I remember visiting relatives and funerals and the house in front of it. The last time I was there in the 1980s. I had a very nice visit with REBA RINER STEVENS, wife of GEORGE A. STEVENS, who was living there at the time. (she must be a relative of yours, Carol?). GEORGE's father,YOUNG ROBERT STEVENS was brother to "MANDY" and "LYTHAN". When I was a little girl, my Uncle REMER GREEN and his wife ELIZABETH BOATRIGHT GREEN ("Aunt Sister"), lived and farmed there. He was a son of MANDY and NED GREEN. They had a peanut farm and sugar cane. I liked to watch the animals pushing the grinding wheel around to make delicious cane syrup. And chew on raw cane, then pump the water pump to drink cool water. And eat all the great country food. All good memories! Does anyone know if the GREEN/STEVENS families still have reunions at Coleman's Lake? Sorry, I didn't mean to get carried away~ShirleyPoundSchaeffer Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
