I agree about using the information with caution. Elisha Walker is my ggggrandfather and is the Revolutionary War person I am using to get my mom into the DAR with. I just need a few things to tie up some loose ends to finish up her application. According to a 1935 DAR application, Elisha Walker and Elizabeth Bower are said to have had seven children, four sons and three daughters. The names listed were sons: Lott married Mary "Polly" Walters, Henry married Charity Fox, Jeremiah married Joanna Fox and Noah married Charlotte Calhoun. Daughters were listed as: Permellia Walker married Arthur Rawls, Ann Walker married Mr. Parker and Judy Walker married Mr. Johnson. Many of the early DAR applications are no longer accepted as valid by the DAR, so use the above information with caution and as a starting point for your own research. > I searched the archives and found info from 2008 about Elisha Walker who > was born 1761 who married Elizabeth Bower. No Pat. I don't know. There was a John Walker, but he was born around 1840 and he married a Charity Fox. And I made an error as to the children of Elisha and Elizabeth. They were Jeremiah, Noah and Judith. There may have been others but that's all I had. SO Is she Susan M. OGLESBY with the marriage, birth and death dates, and place of burial listed below? OR Is she Susan Margaret Virginia JOHNSON, born April 08, 1852 (same parents) who married Charles Martin "Charlie" GAY c.1872, died November 02, 1907 in Jenkins County, and buried in Daniel Berry Johnson Cem. near Thrift, GA? Huge discrepancies here! Does this mean she first married John Johnson, divorced, then married Charlie Gay? I have John Johnson lived to 1916. Also that Charlie Gay remarried after her death to a Nappy Bateman. Mary Ann, I have Daniel's brother George L. married to Sarah Ann Stroud (probably daughter of John & Susan Stroud, but I'm not sure). They were married 13 Jun 1869, in Emanuel County. They had two sons John b.1877, and William T. b.1870, and nine other children. This information came from Ancestry.com, and I haven't tried to verify any of it. Do you think this is the Sarah Ann you're looking for? It just seems unlikely that Daniel and George would both marry Sarah Ann's, although not impossible. Hope this helps. As a volunteer for Emanuel Co.look-ups, I found Daniel in 1880 with wife Rachael Coleman married 1878. Since His first child was John born 1874, he must have been married before Rachael. I could not find Sarah A. on Ancestry or in the Coleman Cemetery where Daniel is buried. Do you know the birth date of Sarah? There are Two Sarah's in the same location, that are a possibility, Sarah A. Heil 18 in 1870 and Sarah Kea 16 in 1870.
