    3. Mary Ann, Thanks for the above info on Thomas A. FIELDS family. He was married to Lula VEAL, daughter of Catherine WILLIAMS and Jasper Newton VEAL. Our WILLIAMS line. By the way, have been meaning to e-mail you, I received the info you sent me. Thanks, and I have info to send to you soon. Found this today, it appears that William and Epsy Ann O'NEAL were the parents of your gggrandmother Mary O'NEAL who married Thomas WHITE, as their son, Alexander WHITE is living with them and listed as grandson (the age is right for Alex and Thomas & Mary were married 1871 in Montgomery Co). *1880 US Federal Census for Montgomery County, GA, GA Militia District #51, Enumeration District #78: #4 & #4 O'NEAL, William; W, M, age 65, Married, Miller, b. GA WHITE, Alexander; W, M, age 7, Single, Grand Son, At Home, b. GA, Father b. NC, Mother b. GA Just found this tonight, I think that this may be your gggrandmother Mary O'NEAL WHITE and a daughter Minnie WHITE. Note that there is a DRIGGERS family living in this household also, and you said that your grandfather Lonnie WHITE went to live with a cousin a Mrs. DRIGGERS when he was 13. Interesting, the head of this household appears to be twice widowed, Schantelle DRIGGERS WILLIAMS, as she has older sons listed as DRIGGERS and younger children listed as WILLIAMS. *1880 US Census for Tattnall County, GA, GA militia District #39, Enumeration District #87: #205 & #205 WILLIAMS, Schantelle; W, F, age 49, Widowed, Keeps House, b. GA WHITE, Minnie; W, F, age 3, Boarder, b. GA, Father b. GA, Mother b. GA Also, there is a Mary WHITE, age 11 and a William WHITE, age 7 living with two different McKAY families in Tattnall County. I didn't have time to get them down, but will do so if you want me to. Thought you would be interested in what I found over the last few months, as I was looking for your side of the WILLIAMS family. You've probably seen this already. 1900 census lists Lindy WILLIAMS WHITE as May WHITE. I now have her listed as Lindy May WILLIAMS WHITE in my file (Daughter of James David WILLIAMS and Emma Gatsey WOMBLES). I know it is not proof positive of her full name, but it is a start. Also, it appears in the 1910 census that your grandfather Lonnie WILLIAMS was living in the household of Rosa SHEPARD WILLIAMS, widow of Warren Jackson WILLIAMS and is listed as adopted son. It is difficult to make out the first name and I thought that it might be Garnie, but the age is clearly 12 and that would be about right for Lonnie. I know that you said that he went to live with a cousin, Mrs. DRIGGERS, when he was 13, but it appears that he lived at least for a time with his great aunt Rosa. I didn't know whether you had seen this census or not. I had no luck finding Garnie WHITE or their sister Annie WHITE. It appears that both Lindy and William WHITE died before the 1910 census. *1900 US Federal Census for Tattnall County, GA; GA Militia District #43, Enumeration District #128, Perrys Mill: #97 WHITE, William; Head, W, M, b. She had been able to be up and at the supper table in the afternoon, her general health, though, had been unfavorable for sometime. Her age was 84. The interment took place Wednesday afternoon at the Field's Cemetery near Blundale. She was the wife of Eld. James Fields who preceded her in death about 23 years. Beside a host of relatives and friends she leaves the following children: Mrs. Marjorie Kersey, Mrs. W. F . Price, Mrs. Rilla Screws, Mrs Sallie Holt, Messrs. Jas. W. Fields, Jno. RICH A very happy and enjoyable gathering of children, grandchildren, ggrandchildren and friends of Mr. A. J. Rich was on January 25, 1926, when they all met together to enjoy a bountiful feast of good things to eat and to spend another happy birthday at his home, it being his 81st birthday. For several years the children all met at his home on this date to enjoy a day of family reunion, and his day was one of the happiest we have had yet. After the dinner hour we almost had a revival among the small crowd, it being carried on by the children and kindred alone, as we were there without a preacher. There were may thanks given and many prayers went up on behalf of the aged old father and grandfather also many testimonials given. All expressed their thanks for the occasion and for being blessed with a dear old dad of the ripe old age of 81. The children of Mr. Rich are: Mrs. L. W. Truett, Mrs. A. H. Hobbs, Mrs. Lou L. Chance, Mrs. George F. Smith, Mr. Jerry J. Rich, he having the same birthday as his father, Mrs. Hicks Mulling, and Mr. Charlie Rich of West Palm Beach, Florida, he and his son coming home for this one happy occasion of a father and family reunion. After a late hour each left for their homes, hoping that the chain will not be broken before another January 25th. ONE WHO ENJOYED THE OCCASION. 3. THE ATLANTA CONSTITUTION September 11, 1885 GEORGIA GOSSIP INDULDGED IN BY COUNTY PAPERS. An assassination is reported from Swainsboro on Saturady night, which resulted in the killing of James E. Warren. Mr. Warren was a well to do farmer, and on Saturday evening he went to carry corn to a mill in the neighborhood and returned home just after dark, and after stabling his horse started to his dwelling, and as he reached the lot gate was fired upon by a hidden assassin and fell to the ground, and only lived to say, "Oh, Lord". His wife heard the report of the gun and the cry of her murdered husband and ran out to where he lay dead. The murderer had fled: and she was alone with four small children. They went to the nearest neighbor and reported the death of their father, and they gathered at the house of the dead man. The coronor was summoned and on Sunday an inquest was held. Dr, Green Bell made a post mortem examination, and so close was the gun that the shot never scattered, all going in a lump, the wad itself entering into the man's body. The evidence failed to give even a clue to the murder, and the jury rendered a verdict that the deceased came to his death by the hand of an unknown party. Excitement runs high, and the lack of evidence is all that prevents a lynching. Dawn Cannady Williams

My question: is this Eula Iris the same as the Eula in the obituary and just the death date is wrong? If not, who are the parents of Eula Screws Morris? >> This is intersting, Olivia. Georgia Deaths, 1919-98 shows this: Eula B. MORRIS - died 21 May 1983 in Candler County. SSDI: Eula MORRIS - born 18 Jun 1904; died May 1983. Last residence: Cobbtown, Tattnall Co., GA Was her maiden name BOATRIGHT, too? I don't know, but we are definitely looking at 2 separate women. Does anyone know the name of Otha MORRIS' 1st wife? Wouldn't it be odd if they were both named Eula? Anyway, I have only one Eula BOATRIGHT in my database and she is the daughter of Benjamin Britton BOATRIGHT & Maggie Lee KEA, as you said, and the wife of Lester H. SCREWS. 1920 US Census: Swainsboro, Emanuel Co., GA - District 27; Household 355/382: BOATRIGHT, B. 1. Re: [GAEMANUE-L] Obit Eula Boatright Screws Morris
    2. Olivia
    3. According to my file, Eula Iris BOATRIGHT, d/o of Britton Benjamin Boatright and Maggie Lee Kea, married Lester H. Screws. Since it states she died in 1983, that information is apparently incorrect. Source was a person on this list (name withheld). My question: is this Eula Iris the same as the Eula in the obituary and just the death date is wrong? If not, who are the parents of Eula Screws Morris? Olivia
