    3. Just found this: Georgia Deaths, 1919-98: Daisy G. A. ANDERSON - 19 Mar 1921. County of death: Lee. Does someone have an idea of who "G.S. Pryor" is? I cannot find anyone on the 1920 Census is Georgia that fits. They would have had 4 children by then: A. S., Robert S., Minnie, and Eileen. ____________________________________________________ Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs

    3. So who was Anna's first husband, Mr. Lee? Anyone know? And were they childless? Thanks, Carol M. -----Original Message----- From: emullins@pineland.net [mailto:emullins@pineland.net] Sent: Thursday, July 14, 2005 7:16 PM To: GAEMANUE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [GAEMANUE-L] Re: Descendants of Joseph S. Anderson To Carol M.- Maybelle is Cora's daughter per Judith Folsom. ""Eva, according to the Joseph S. Anderson's obituary he married 1st Cora A. Forehand and second Mrs. Annie E. Lee (nee Anna Elizabeth Forsyth) of Savannah. The census records 1880-1930 bears this out. His daughter, Mary B. (1900 census)/Maybelle (1910 census)is the daughter of Cora. According to the 1910 Emanuel census, Anna E. and Joseph had been married 7 years or circa 1903. The census shows each had been married 2 times (M2). The 1910 census lists Maybelle as 18 years old and in 1900 as 8 years old." So Maybelle was on the 1900 census with Joseph and Cora and he didn't marry Annie until 1903. And to Carol Riner- I show Daisy married G. S. Pryor. At one time they lived in DeSoto, GA and at one time Leesburg, GA. Right? This past week is the first time I had been able to figure out how to arrange a genealogy report from the FTM program and post to an email. Looking over my report on Joseph S. Anderson I also see dates that are messed up when sent to an email, but look fine on the actual FTM Family View page. Sorry, I will double-check next time before I actually email it to GAEMANUE-L. Thanks to everyone for all their help on this family. This makes it all worthwhile when others join in on the fun! 1. Joseph S. Anderson family marriages
    2. Benjamin Folsom
    3. Following are a few more additions for the Joseph S. Anderson family: Joseph S. Anderson married Cora Forehand 11 Jan 1877, Burke Co Ga (Burke Co site at GAGENWEB) Hattie E. Anderson married George E. Usher 25 Dec 1902 , book C, page 450 (Marriage Records of Emanuel Co, Ga 1817-1928 compiled by Paul & Montell Brinson Truitt). This marriage mistakenly recorded as Risher, George E.? in the book. Josie Anderson married Jewell S. Vandiver 28 June 1911, book D, page 405,(Marriage Records of Emanuel Co 1817-1928). Paul R. Anderson married Martha Brenon 28 July 1919, book E, page 202 (Marriage records of Emanuel Co 1817-1928). Clide S. Anderson married Nellie Lee Bishop 7 Apr 1907, book D, page 225 (same reference as above). Daisy Anderson married G. S. Pryor 25 Dec 1911, book D, page 432 (same reference). Cora Anderson married C. S. Payers? (sic) 19 June 1920 , book E, page 244 (same reference) Name should be Pryor. I use Paul & Montell Truitt's compiled Emanuel Co Ga marriage book as a reference, however, I know it contains errors, so check the orginials to be sure. Mary B., age 8 is listed as a daughter in Joseph and Cora Anderson's 1900 Emanuel Co Ga census. In 1910 Emanuel census, Maybelle, age 18, is listed as daughter in Joseph's and Anna E. household. Maybelle is the daughter of Joseph and Cora. According to the 1910 census Joseph and Anna had been married 7 years, each for the second time. Judith

He enlisted in the volunteer reserve corps when he was 19, and served three years, having seen service in Panama. He went to Mexico during the trouble down there as a second lietenant and after returning from there he left the army for a short while, but re-enlisted with the regular army, and in 1914 he stood examination for a commission and sent to FortJay, New York. He went to France with General Pershing's expeditionary forces and was said to be the first American soldier to set foot on No Man's Land. He was here made a captain and placed in command of a company of the 28th Inf. and was leading this company in battle when killed. His record on the other side was so brilliant that he had been nominated by General Pershing to be a major, and the senate just previous to his death had confirmed the nomination. Capt. Anderson was cited for gallantry in action and had been given a 28-day furlough. He had only returned to his command a few days when he was killed. Capt. Anderson stood very high as a military man and as an officer and undoubtedly had a bright future before him. Surviving Capt. Anderson are his father, Joseph S. 3. The Atlanta Constitution 3/17/1890 Hon. Alfred Herrington, of Emanuel County-is married. He was one of the most popular members of the last legislature, and a great many friends here and in parts of the state will be interested in the story. He will be readily recalled to Constitution, readers, perhaps, by his spirited refusal to obey instructions given by the political bosses of his section to control his vote on the Olive Bill. The incident was the subject of a lot of comment, and secured him with many friends. It was known amongst his intimate acquaintences that he had been twice married, and was again a widower. His two wives were sisters. While his first wife was living he had contributed toward the education of his siter in law, then a young girl. Then in time he married the second sister-the one he had once educated. The second wife's place in school was taken by a third sister. It was Mr. Herrington's pride that the children should grow up educated and refined, and he spared no expense in giving the third sister-as he had given the second-the best of educations. Now he has married the third sister. The story is told briefly in this special from Swainsboro: "the most interesting occurence that has taken place in our town in some time is the marriage of Hon. Alfred Herrington to Miss Annie Lee Wilken, at the residence of Mrs. E.E. Flanders. The contracting parties are among the most prominent and popular young people of this section.
