Additionally, Joseph WATSON married Amelia TAPLEY when he was about 20 and she survived him by 40+ years. He would have to have been a very young groom to have married Miss GOFF. Thoughts, anyone? 1. descendants of Phillip Hugh NUNEZ
    2. Carol Riner Everett
    3. Since this is the part of the NUNEZ family involved with Emanuel County, I did some more research to flesh it out. Carol First Generation 1. Phillip Hugh NUNEZ (CSA) son of Hugh NUNEZ was born in 1822 in Georgia. He died on 15 May 1864 in Poore River, Virginia. He was buried in City Cemetery, Swainsboro, Georgia. Philip's mother has been listed as Sarah Virginia Carter and as Jincie Wilson Carter. Which is correct? Philip H Nunez was a 3rd Corporal in the Co H 48th Regiment Ga Volunteer Infantry, Army of Northern Virginia, CSA - Emanuel Co. GA McLeod Volunteers. 1860 US Census: Emanuel Co., GA - GMD 395; Household 141/142: NUNEZ, P. WATTS daughter of Riley WATTS and Lydia DOUGLAS on 11 Feb 1855 in Emanuel Co., Georgia. Elizabeth was born on 23 Apr 1836 in Georgia. She died before 1900 in Emanuel Co., Georgia. According to Mark Watts, as posted on Ancestry.com, after her 2nd marriage to James Boyd, Elizabeth moved to Saratoga Springs, New York and died in Savage, Maryland. This is highly doubtful, since James was listed in 1900 as a widower, still living in Emanuel County. In 1880 Elizabeth was living in Richmond Co., GA, with her 2nd husband James Boyd, their son Edmund, and her son Philip. Also listed was 23-year-old Lula BOYD, presumably James’ daughter from a previous marriage. One researcher at Rootsweb claims that Elizabeth was born in Scotland. This is incorrect, as Census data shows that both she and her parents were born in Georgia. Phillip and Elizabeth had the following children: + 2 F i. Eugenia Roseann NUNEZ was born on 18 Dec 1855. + 3 M ii. Rodolphus Warren NUNEZ was born on 17 Nov 1857. He died on 28 Jan 1940. + 4 M iii. Dr. Jackson Morgan NUNEZ was born on 8 Aug 1859. 3. Sorry about that ... I do try to include sources as much as possible because I don't want anyone to get the idea that I do all that wonderful research by myself. Many, many people contribute and my deepsest gratitude goes to you all for being so willing to share your family data. Much of the information on the NUNEZ family line came from Ancestry.com as posted by Carol Ten Eick Ayers <mk212@aol.com>, Linda Wildes <LWildes@hotmail.com> and Wanda L. 2. Carol I know in most of your genealogy reports, your source is census records and SSDI, etc. and most important, the receive info submitted by list members on their family ancestry. I was curious in reading the report you submitted on Dr. Nunez, what is your documentation/or who were your sources? A lot of us try to list documentation and try to give credit to those who did the research. I know I often forget . Thanks in advance for all of your help, Claudia P.S. And a special thanks to ALL who participate in submitting info in order for Carol to submit these genealogy reports. She was delivered by Dr. Nunez. In a previous posting, I noticed that the town of Nunez was named after a Dr. Nunez that came over during Oglethorpe's time (1733) and was from Portugal and was instrumental in the Jewish movement in Savannah as well as providing medical services for the Colony. My question: Is the Emanuel county Dr. Nunez related to the Dr. Nunez that was in the original colony? Does anyone have the "tree" on the Emanuel county Nunez? > > > ==== GAEMANUE Mailing List ==== > Search the USGenWeb Archives for more Resources > http://searches.rootsweb.com/htdig/search.html/ > > > > -- > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. > Version: 7.0.338 / Virus Database: 267.9.7/60 - Release Date: 7/28/2005 > >
