We hope to do it again sometime ... but this trip cost me over $150 in gas alone, so it may be awhile before I can afford to go to Swainsboro again! ____________________________________________________ Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs

Was Franklin's wife Clifford Gertrude buried in the Old Settlers Cemetery also, if not where is she buried? Thanks, Sue From the Desktop of Sue & Richard Marsh
During my trip I bought several books in Emanuel and Jefferson County. I'm going to offer lookups but just one book at a time (otherwise I'll loose my mind). First book: A History of Saint George Parish Colony of Georgia, Jefferson County, State of Georgia by Marion Little Durden (2004). Please make your requests as specific as possible. It's not a large book, but it does contain some history, marriage entries, and will extracts. When the requests for this book die down I'll offer the next one. I start back to school on Monday so please be patient as I will be doing genealogy in between homework (I'm working towards a history degree). Thanks! Tara --- avast! It's fixed. Just a typo - we have tons of StaffoRds around here and I'm used to typing the "R." Thanks for finding it. Tara, Hi, thanks for posting your cemetery and family information. I noticed you have Bowens from Jefferson Co. Who is your earliest Bowen? My great-grandfather Calvin Gay was a Bowen descendant. (Our earliest in Ga was Clifton Bowen Jr, who moved to the Effingham/Bulloch area from Duplin NC after the Revolutionary War.) Calvin Gay was the father of Mozelle Gay Atkinson and Saphronie Gay. Thanks for posting their cemetery pictures, by the way. Also, you posted a picture of a Barwick/Fields house. Was there a Barwick in your Fields family genealogy also? Also, Tara, I discovered your Camden Co website a while back. It is great!! I was trying to figure out if my husband's Millers could be connected to the Henry Miller/Delilah Drury family, but never did find anything. Drury Miller is a name found in the family, but they were mainly in Tn, SC, Al, and, in Ga, Bulloch, Jenkins,Screven, and Chatham Counties. Thanks, Carol B. Miller
