The oldest birth is Jessie P. Scott born 1818, died 1888; the last burial is 1898. Other than Jessie P. Scott the other headstones appear to be infants or young children. This doesn't forgive the abandonment but perhaps explains it. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Sunday morning. I live off of Forest Ranger road. You would go north up #1 . Go throuh Delwood. You would pass a church on the right, (a white one) called Bethany Primitive Babtist Church, right pass that church there will be a dirt road on the right. called Forest Ranger road. Go about a mile down the dirt road and the graves are on the left. You have to really look for the them. There will be curve there. I am not good at typing all this stuff. I just want some help for these graves. I wonder what happened to all of that family. Did they all died or do they not care. Theres no flowers and thats a mess. I took my day off of work to do over there and get those names, maybe someone will reconise some of the names and help. Thats what happens when people die. Your forgotten. Not in my family. I love my family and I love the world. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Is it north or south of Swainsboro? Can you be more specific about where this road is and how far you drive down it to reach the cemetery? Is the cemetery located right on Forest Ranger Road or do you have to make some turns? We appreciate your interest in the preservation of old cemeteries. This is also an interest of my own. Please help us by stating exactly how to reach this cemetery. How were you able to find it in the first place? This grave yard is about a mile off of # 1 hway down forest ranger road. Some trees have been cut there because of tornado and they are trees down on top of old graves. I have lived in this area all my life and I never knew that there was a grave yard there. there is the Scotts and there seems to be Fields buried there. One grave reads infant daughter of John R. and Nancy Fields. I could read a grave that reads Yander Scott, Ashley Scott born 1870 died 1873. Lots more, but trees and vines on some of them. the graves seem very old. Can anybody help. I am very scared of snakes to go there very long at the time by myself. If you turn off of #1 highway on to forest ranger road the cemetary will be on the left side of the road. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Olivia, I don't know where the name Tilton came from. It may be a family name, and it's certainly possible he was called that, but I can't imagine why, and I've never seen him referred to as Tilton. I think you have the children right. He and his wife did just have 10 children, but his parents had 15 or 16 children, as stated in the article you have on him. Probably the source of the mixup. Many of his siblings moved to the Washington/Emanuel area. The family was in Darlington SC before moving to Washington Co Ga. My two great-grandfather John Sr married Susannah Whiddon, sister of Nathan's wife Elizabeth. 3. Olivia, I guess you are referring to Nathan born 1782 in NC, son of William Blueford (or Bluford) Barwick and Elizabeth Phillips, who is buried in the Barwick cemetery at Norristown? I have never heard of him being called anything but Nathan. My dad's uncle was named James Hilton Barwick, and was called Hilton or Hilt. He was born in 1887, son of John J Barwick Jr and Jane Skinner. Hope this helps. Carol B.
