I didn't meet the probate court judge when I was there, but Susan Sexton was absolutely marvelous. She went out of her way to help me find things, and even mailed me some records several months later. In the town of Bowman, where all my mom's family were born, the clerks dug out the old tax records so we could track the years my grandfather paid taxes. Elbert County is marvelous. Why did anyone leave? :)
