Diane, I refer you to "History of Elbert County, Georgia, 1790--1935," by John H. McIntosh. He was a fifth-generation descendant of William Allen, so the genealogical section of his book is packed full of William Allen's progeny. William was a Revolutionary War soldier, born 1756, died 1826, had three wives. The Family History Center has this book on microfilm, or you may find it in a good genealogical section of a good library. I am too lazy to trace it all out, but then too I don't want to deny you the pleasure of finding it all out for yourself. Beverly Allen was a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, member of the Georgia Senate, and Justice of the Inferior Court of Elbert County. He married Mildred Beck, and there was no issue. He was one of William's sons, but McIntosh gives no dates. Singleton Walthall Allen, son of William by his second wife Nancy Walthall, was born Jan. 1, 1791 and died June 6, 1853. He married Jane Lanier Heard (1797---), daughter of Governor Stephen Heard and Elizabeth Darden. He also served in both the Georgia House and Senate. They had a multitude of progeny.
