Hello everyone. There seems to be something not right in my information. I have a Mary MCDUFF in the Logan County Census listed as living with her grandparents - John M. Clark and Judith Gaines but sources say they did not have any children and died young. I also have Mary's mother being Sarah Clark listed on Mary's death certificate. If anyone has any information on this, I would be grateful. Perhaps John M. Clark was an uncle? Or perhaps the book Francis Gaines of Albemarle County, VA and Elbert County, GA by Thomas R. Gaines is wrong? I have both John M. Clark and Judith R. Gaines down in the Logan Co. Census in 1880 - so they would not be young. Perhaps they just disappeared to KY?
