    1. HALE, HAILES, HAYLES, HAIL, Oh hell
    2. Wiley Hailes, My gg-grandfather b. abt 1775, Oglethorpe Co., GA, married 15 Mar 1810 Susan Jane Buchanan, b. abt 1780 NC. in Elbert Co., GA. This lady was my gg-grandmother. Her maiden name was not Buchanan because Wiley's will mentions, as a daughter of his wife, a Susan Buchanan. I am in hopes that someone can tell me what this ladies maiden name was, where she came from, who she had previously married, were they divorced or was she a widow. Wiley and Susan Jane had five children: Robert b. abt 1811 d. abt 1870 Frances M. b. abt 1813 d. abt 1870 Thomas H. b. abt 1816 d. abt 1875 Seaborne H. b. abt 1818 d. abt 1880 Reed C. b. abt 1821 d. abt 1875 Reed C. Hailes was my g-grandfather and he was elected sheriff of Greene Co., GA in 1868. I have an excerpt from the local paper of the time which is not very flattering to my g-grandfather. Likely because he was in league with the carpet baggers who were in power all over the South during Reconstruction. I would like to know about the families of the other children of Wiley and Susan Jane. I have been unable to locate any further information than their names. Reed C. Hailes married someone named Sarah ?????? Since she was my g-grandmother I would like to know more about her, like what was her maiden name and who were her ancestors. I can go further back than Wiley and I can come further forward than Reed but I cannot, for the life of me, find any of the information listed above. If anyone can help me in this effort I will be happy to give them a Yankee Dime. Gordon R. Hale Jr. Grand Prairie, TX .
