Joseph Fleming Elberton Joseph Thomas Fleming, 75, of 1187 Plantation Road, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001. A native of Elbert County, Mr. Fleming was a son of the late Otto and Mary Thornton Fleming. He was a World War II army veteran who served in the Asiatic-Pacific campaign and was retired from Hanson Building Material Company. He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. A.E. Rowan and Billy Pittman officiating. Burial will be in Coldwater United Methodist Church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Verna R. Fleming; two daughters, Shirley Yeargin, Conyers, and Gloria Slay, Douglasville; a stepson, A.E. Rowan, Miffin, Penn.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Clint Yeargin, Julian Galvis, Stewart Whittaker, Greg Sanders, Phillip Sanders and Stan Mills.
