    3. Dear Listmembers: I don't like having to do what I am about to do but I have no other choice. Since this involves genealogy, I hope I don't hear about it. In September, I ordered maps from the SRVGS @ a cost of $23.00. I waited and waited for my order. Finally, I called the very nice people at the Hartwell Library and they gave a the name of someone they felt was responsible for orders, etc....I emailed this person and he emailed me back Oct 11, 2000, saying he would check into my order. Well, needless to say, I am still waiting. This person never responded to my emails after my first one. I have sent several emails but never a response. Is there anyone on the list that knows someone on the SRVGS, that is responsible that might help me to resolve this. Three months is long enough to have to wait without knowing what is happening. If someone out there is from SRVGS, help me to understand what is going on and feel free to contact me. Sincerely, Gale Sanders 922 West Ave F Garland, TX 75040 972-205-1872 _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. 1. [GAELBERT] Joseph E. Anderson & Malinda J. Ashley Anderson, GA & SC
    2. Found on the 1870 Census for Elbert Co., GA: Page 17, Elberton Post Office, Dwelling # 92, Family # 92, June 18, 1870 Anderson, Jos. E., age 33, male, b. GA, Occupation Shoemaker " Malinda J., age 28, female, b. SC, Keeping house " Joseph L., age 7, male, b. SC " William L., age 5, male, b. SC " John J., age 3, male, b. SC " Mary E., age 1, female , b. GA " George S., age 1/12, male, b. GA in the month of April This 1870 Census for Elbert County, GA was said to be lost and not available when I began researching this family 25 years ago. With marriages not required to be recorded in SC at that time period, this now gives a valuable piece of documentation for the family. Malinda died the following year, in 1871 making it impossible to find her on a later Census. I never knew there was a girl born to this couple, she must have died young. Have never found another reference to her. Another point which had always been a thing of speculation is now proven. This proves that my grandfather Jim Anderson, who always signed "J. J. Anderson" was in fact named John James Anderson. Frances Hall

    1. [GAELBERT] Elbert Co, GA Crenshaw's
    2. Carol Shrader
    3. This deed is an important one as George ANDERSON moved to Autauga Co, AL, probably immediately after this land sale. There are documents tying his son William ANDERSON to the CRENSHAW family in mid 1830's Autauga Co, AL. There is a possibility that 1-2 of his son James ANDERSON's daughters may have married CRENSHAW men in the Kemper/Lauderdale Co, MS area in the early 1840's. Who is the Mary CRENSHAW in this deed? Could she be the Poley CRENSHAW, heir of Maben/Maybourn CRENSHAW. Polly was commonly used as a nickname for Mary in that period of time. (Granville Co, NC Marriages: Mabron CRENSHAW m Sarah GOSS 12 Dec 1784.) Elbert Co, GA Deed Book U, p. 162. 19 Dec. 1825. George ANDERSON & Sarahann, his wife, & Mary CRENSHAW to Eathal TUCKER, Sr., all of Elbert Co for $200 on Beaverdam Creek waters in said county, 100 acres, adj HENDERSON, in fee simple. Test: Wm U. BOWEN, Thos W. DAVIS, Benja FLEMING JP. Recorded 8 Dec 1826.

    3. I am searching for any information on the family of James M. ANDERSON, born abt. 1797 in GA and married 1) Bathsheba HIGHTOWER 1818 in Elbert Co, GA. Issue: William, Elizabeth, Martha W. m William NORMAN, Jane H. m Ezra JENNINGS, Eliza & Temperance H. (One or both of the Eliza/Elizabeth daughters may have married CRENSHAW men.) The family moved from GA to Autauga Co, AL probably in mid-1820's. Bathsheba was deceased by the mid-1830's. James ANDERSON moved to Lauderdale Co, MS abt. 1835 and married 2) Caron HODGES 1835 in Sumter Co, AL. They had the following children by the 1850 Lauderdale Co, MS census: George W., Sarah, James K. P., Malinda & Robert. William & Martha NORMAN are enumerated on the 1850 Newton Co, MS Census. Jane & Ezra JENNINGS are enumerated on the 1850 Clarke Co, MS Census. William ANDERSON is probably the same who is enumerated on the 1850 Lauderdale Co, MS Census. Temperance is living in her father's 1850 Lauderdale County household. Can anyone locate Elizabeth & Eliza ANDERSON in 1850? I would like to correspond with anyone researching this family. Carol Shrader
