    1. [GAELBERT] Andrew, Reynolds & Tate Of Elbert Co.
    2. John Andrews
    3. Looking for ancestors, descendants and any information on Charles Reynolds, father of Rev. Freeman Franklin Reynolds and others. Benjamin Andrew III and Lucy Tate parents of Elizabeth Elenor Andrew and others. This Reynolds line has been especially hard to find. There is a Virginia connection since one of the males in the household in the 1850 census was born in Virginia. I just haven't been able to find it. Have much information to share on the Andrew line. 3. I have 3 listings of Bass in my family tree: an UNKNOWN Bass who married Molly/Polly Nichols (no information for them), the second is Sarah Bass (no dates or locations) who married Julius Nichols (b. March 1757 Granville Co., N.C. d. May 18, 1838 in Franklin Co., GA.). They were married February 3, 1783 in Wake County, N.C., and my last Bass is Mary Dorthea Bass (b. 1823 d. 1898) who married C.S.A. Col. Randolph Spaulding (b. 1822 d. 1862 in Savannah, GA.). They were married in 1843 in Randolph, Alabama. Now my question for you is which Barrow are you looking for? I have a line that is connected directly to my Lumpkins and Cobbs of Athens, Clarke County, GA. I have the line all the way back into England and my Barrow that is from Edgecombe Co., N.C. is James Barrow (b. January 31, 1757 d. January 20, 1828 Baldwin Co., GA. and buried in Athens, Clarke Co., GA. at Oconee Hill Cemetery). He married Patience Crenshaw (b. May 15, 1779 d. October 26, 1817 Athens, Clarke Co., Georgia (Oconee Hill Cemetery). I have quite a bit of information on this family that you can see on my Lumpkin Family webpage: http://64.81.22.233/sandy/ or http://64.81.22.233/sandy/lumpkin.htm . I almost think that we may have a connection somewhere. :o) Sandy Kelly Atlanta, GA. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Greg & Winnette" <gnw@rose.net> To: "Sandy Kelly" <sandyk@speakeasy.org>; <GAELBERT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, May 05, 2001 8:16 AM Subject: Re: [GAELBERT] Looking For Duncan, Dooley, & Rice Sandy, Is there a chance you have a Rice connected to Bass, Jackson or Parker's. 3. I have Browns in Jackson County, Clarke County, and Oglethorpe County, Georgia. My earliest Brown--whome I cannot get past--is William W. Brown (we have no information for him but suspect that he may have come into Georgia from Wake County, North Carolina). He married Louisia Nance Gordon Bullock June 10, 1836 in Oglethorpe County, GA. She was b. December 31, 1804 and d. Aft. 1883 in Oglethorpe County. Their children and descendants moved to surrounding counties. Any relation? 3. I am looking for any information for or prior to Leonard Rice and his descendants. I am a direct descendant starting with Leonard and through his daughter, Susannah "Sookie or Suky" Rice (b.1795) and her husband, Bennett Dooley (b. 1795 d. 1876). Their daughter, Bettie Elizabeth Dooley (b. February 15, 1823 d. August 09, 1919) married Moses Duncan, Sr. (b. February 04, 1818 d. December 25, 1890). Our line continues further down with their son, Asa Bennett Duncan (b. August 16, 1842 d. 1931) and he married Mary "Maggie" Elizabeth Hyde (b. October 22, 1853 d. 1928). I have much more to share after this point as it is my early records that have the missing information. I am especially interested in family photos and gravesite photos. Is anyone else researching this line? Thanks so much!---Sandy Kelly :o) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cecil M. 1. [GAELBERT] mystery wife of Josiah Dobbs--a Blanton?
    2. Kate Dobbs Ariail
    3. I am looking for the wife of Josiah Dobbs (b. NC abt. 1785) who, I believe, lived in Elbert Co. He married a woman born in GA, and their first known child was born in TN in 1810. His name was Isaac Blanton Dobbs. Does anyone have a Blanton, Isaac or other, who had a marriageable daughter c. 1810? Or for that matter, does anyone know anything about Josiah? He may have been the son of another Josiah--or maybe not. Thanks, Kate

    3. GA Korean War MIA/POWs need help ----- Original Message ----- From: "B & C Pierce" <ltlbit@mindspring.com> Sent: Saturday, March 10, 2001 10:23 AM Subject: Fw: GA Korean War MIA/POWs need help I received the following message this a.m. - There are several listed for GA Counties - if any of you know families of these military personnel, please follow the instructions and provide that information ----- Original Message ----- From: Harold Keisling Subject: GA Korean War MIA/POWs need help Dear List Administrator; You will note that DNA is need on several of the service men. That is DNA from a living person who descends from the same blood line. The message below can also be posted along with the request. As a former service member I am doing everything within my power to get the message out. Feel free to modify, abbreviate, or alter this to best suit your needs. Thank you. Sincerely, Harold Keisling, Cookeville TN -----------------message follows--------------------------------- The Army has some unidentified remains of service members from North Korea. Since DNA data was unknown in the 1950s there was no profile on these personnel. The Army can now conduct DNA on the remains, but they have an incomplete database of DNA form close family members with which to compare. There are several on the list for your state and some may be from your county. Please look at the list and see if any from you county are annotated with needing DNA "Yes". If find one, look under DNA and see what relative is acceptable. Then find a relative in your area that meets this criterion and send their name, address or phone number to the following contact at Department of the Army. There is not guarantee that the missing service member from your county will be found, but thru DNA testing the Army can confirm or eliminate him as a name for the remains that they have. This is an important service that we can provide to our fellow citizens. We owe this much to our service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country and in the name of freedom. Let us resolve to get all of these needed DNA for our state submitted. Steps to follow: 1. Look at the state List and find people from your county 2. copy and paste the service member name or jot it down on paper so that you use the same spelling when you go to the DNA database. 3. Go to DNA database and see if they need DNA, if not then the Army has what data they need. If they need DNA then you need to find a good DNA source. 4. Look under DNA on one of the pages and it will tell you what is acceptable. 5. Develop a list of siblings, offsprings etc with addresses/phone number and send them to the e-mail address or call them into the 1-800 number. 6. The Army has its own procedure for following up and getting the DNA samples. PMKOR Data by name search: http://www.dtic.mil/dpmo/pmkor/files.htm Your state Data, select ASCII and then open in place: http://www.dtic.mil/dpmo/pmkor/statefiles.htm?State=ga&Name=Georgia Korean DB search by name DNA needed: http://www.koreanwar.org/html/korean_war_databases.html Send you data to this address or call the 800 number that is listed on the database.
