    3. I am researching RICHARDSON from Georgia. My ancestor Thomas RICHARDSON m. Jane (Willis) and moved from Wilkes to TN. I am just hoping some of the them might have filtered over into neighboring counties. So I am mostly a lurker. But I would appreciate any info anyone has about the Richardsons. 1. [GAELBERT] My Connections to RICE/THOMPSON/Possible Gaines/Browns
    2. Karen T. Ledford
    3. Hello: I have noticed the flurry of activity this day and thought I would add to it. I am the GGG Granddaughter of GAINES THOMPSON and SARAH RICE buried at Deep Creek Bapt. Church in Elbert Co. Gaines Thompson is the son of Isham Thompson and Unknown woman (believe she is possibly a Gaines) . Isham married #2 to Elizabeth Williams in Wilkes Co. Isham Thompson was the son of John Farley Thompson who was the son of Robert Thompson II from Chesterfield Co., Va. I have come to believe but cannot substantiate that Sarah Rice, the wife of Gaines Thompson was the daughter of LEONARD RICE. I have some old DAR papers of a woman applying for membership under Leonard that states his children one of which is named Sarah and the birthyear is close to MY Sarah's which is around 1797. Gaines thompson had a daughter named Louisa Thompson who married Zachariah Seymour Jr. they are buried at Rehoboth. Now on MY MOTHER;s Side...... I am the 4th Great Granddaugter of ANDREW BROWN and Margarette Adams who are both buried also at HOLLY Springs Baptist church. In seeing Mr. Gaines' post today and also to me privately, I want to state that I have also looked long and hard at HIS Gaines connections that I believe somehow tie into my THOMPSONS as this Gaines line is also descended from a marriage to ANN Thompson. If anyone can enlighten ME on WHO was the mother of my Gaines Thompson it would be the most fantastic gift anyone could ever supply. Also I might add to tell the list that I will be working on a book on ELBERT CO. in my series of books entitled THESE MEN WORE GREY. I will be undertaking working on Hart and Elbert Co. both this Spring and Summer. I am about to publish my 7th Volume of this series which is on Jackson Co. My webpage can be found at "http://www.hartcom.net/~scv935/grey I have these other family SURNAMES in my lines from ELBERT Co.: I am a descendent of: William Allen William Alexander William Rucker/Barden Rucker and Frances Alexander Andrew Brown and Margarette Adams James Cobb William McConnell Isham/John Farley/and Gaines Thompson John Higginbotham and Susannah Evanson/William Higginbotham and Eliza Tyner William Teasley/ Martha W. "Patsy" Teasley/Thomas Jefferson Teasley John Teasley/James Teasley and Drucilla Allen Richard Tyner (of the famous Tyner Indian Massacre) Also a Carter and Rackley Descendent too way back that connects with these early pioneer families. These are on both sides (mother and Father). So you can see my interest in this Elbert/Hart County Area. Sincerely Karen Thompson Ledford/Toccoa, Ga. I have that Hiram Gaines Adams born 10-14-1939 is son of Hiram Gaines Adams, Sr. born about 1808 and Mary Ann (Polly) Nelms. Hiram Gaines Adams, Sr. born about 1808 is son of William Henry Adams, Sr. born Oct/18/1753. William Henry Adams, Sr. born Oct/18/1753 is the brother of John Cunningham Adams who married Faith Ann Dickerson. My information came from excerpts from a volume of Annual Returns for Elbert Co, GA and from the Elbert County Library copy of the pages from The Coldwater Community in Elbert County. mona
