    1. [GAELBERT] Elbert Co GA ALLEN's
    2. While at the Archives in Atlanta last week I copied the wills of Singleton ALLEN 1853; and Beverly ALLEN 1846 both of Elbert Co GA. I'm looking for a connection to my John W. ALLEN (m McMULLAN 1818) and his father, Ephraim ALLEN (m SKELTON 1792). If anyone can help me with this; or, if I can help someone with any info from those wills...give me a holler. Diane Allen Cooper

    1. [GAELBERT] Re: TAYLOR
    2. My great-grandmother was MAMIE LOU TAYLOR (born 15 May 1868) who married WILLIAM BROWN LOEHR (born 03 Feb 1860) from Elberton. That's about all I know about her right now. I haven't done much digging into her line yet. I would be interested to know if she fits into your TAYLOR family.

    1. [GAELBERT] Taylor Family of Elbert County, Georgia
    2. Shawna Bayles
    3. Hi List, I'm new to the list and so I wanted to put out my information and see if anyone else out there might have the same family? Mine starts with a Willis C. Taylor, born in 1795 and married a Martha (Betsy) Ward/Word/Bird also from Georgia, not sure what part. They moved to Tennessee and had their family there, in Warren County and Franklin County, Tennessee. I believe that Willis may have had a sister by the name of Priscilla Taylor, born in 1799 in Georgia, and married a Lemuel Hogan Wright. Does anyone in the list have any information on any Taylors from Elbert County, that might give me some leads to follow? I would really appreciate any help you can give me. We believe that Willis' father may have the name of Arthur Taylor. I thank you all for your time, and I appreciate anything you may do on my behalf. 1. [GAELBERT] QUESTION: William and Polly (Ragan) GALLOWAY
    2. April Robbins
    3. Some time ago I corresponded with several of the descendants of these folks of lived in Elbert Co., GA and then in Henry Co. AL. I have a simple question to ask of any of the folks descended from William and Polly: Would any of you say that the following statement is true--"William and Polly were wealthy slaveowners in SC." I ask in the hopes of finding a final answer to the question of whether or not my GALLOWAY ancestor was related to the said William and Polly (Ragan) GALLOWAY. Also, can anyone give me the dates of birth and death for Will. and Polly? Thanks! April aerobbins@earthlink.net

    1. [GAELBERT] Georgia Family Group Sheet Project
    2. Jeanne Arguelles
    3. Announcing a new project of the Georgia GenWeb Archives... Georgia Family Group Sheets! http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ga/bios/groupindx.html This will be a great new resource for Georgia researchers! Please visit the site and then take a few minutes to send in your Georgia Family Group Sheets. Just copy and paste the blank group sheet form onto an email, add your family info, sources & notes, and send it to Bettie Wood at nana321@txucom.net (You can also send group sheets generated by your genealogy program, but please contact Bettie before sending any attachments to make sure she can open them). This is a great and easy way for *everyone* to contribute data to the GAGenWeb Archives! As with all the files in the GAGenWeb Archives, the Search Engine enables someone to find your material from whatever county they happen to be searching. And it will be an added plus for you....you can just refer people to the URL when they write you asking questions about your family line!! Jeanne Arguelles ejarguelles@msn.com

    1. [GAELBERT] John W. ALLEN, parentage question
    2. Does anyone have more info regarding the following?... I have listed John W. Allen's parents as: Ephriam Allen and Patsy Skelton, but have been questioned about this by other McMullan researchers. I got the information from another researcher. The other researcher's indicate that the parents were: Joseph Allen and Agnes Patterson. I must say that their position is well documented by more researchers, direct descendants of Joseph Allen and his will probated in Elbert Co. GA. A fellow McMullan researcher uses Ephriam and Patsy as I do presently. She gave me your data site and this is why I'm writing you about the present controversy. The researcher I got the information from originally, hasn't bothered to answer my email. Unless I get more concrete proof of the parents of John W. Allen, I will change my records to reflect Joseph Allen and Agnes Patterson as the parents. John W. ALLEN married Elizabeth McMULLAN Aug 06, 1818 in Elbert Co.
