Can anyone idenify this Society. I found reference to it in an article published in 1909 issue of the SPRINGFIELD HERALD, april 16. Vol. 1, No. 27. It begans "Whereas it was the will of God in his wisdom to remove from this world GEORGE GROVENSTEIN, a most ernest worker, just entering manhood. He leaves a rcord that few of his age are dapable of bearing; therefor it is resolved:" 1st: That we, the members of MT. PILGRIM MISSIONARY SOCIETY. are deeply moved....... 4 other resolutions follow.... The 5th: "That a copy of these resolutions be inscribed in our minutes and that a copy be sent to THE SPRINGFIELD HERALD, EFFINGHAM COUNTY NEWS AND ENTERPRIZE-GAZETTE for publication, and also to the family of the deceased." three names are given as the committe- HENRY GABLE, LULA BISHOP, KATE GRAY I also would like to find more info on the committee member named HENRY GABLE.
