Does anyone have any information for Debbie drotstein@mindspring.com ??? ----- Original Message ----- From: Debbie To: ddavis@logicsouth.com Sent: Saturday, November 27, 1999 2:10 PM Subject: Jesse Davis Dear Diane, I was surfing and came accross your gen project. I am looking for a Jesse Davis b. abt. 1799-1800 in South Carolina. Why I am writing you is that my Jesse married Margaret Metzger in Effingham Co., GA on 28 Jan. 1829. They moved to Florida around 1850-1851. They had sons named Henry, Richard, Raiford, Moses, and daughters named, Caroline and Catherine. Could my Jesse be the brother to your Richard Davis born 1795? Could they have married neighbors? Could my Jesse named his child after his brother? Please e-mail me at my main address DebbieC22@aol.com when you get a chance and lets talk about the possiblities.
I thought this might be of interest to other researchers. For those of you who don't know about it: I use http://www.profusion.com/ for searches putting the surname + genealogy on the 'Just Find It' line. I have had quite a bit of luck with finding new sites. Diana ddavis@logicsouth.com Updated 7/11/99: Gen. My g.g.g.g.grandfather was Samuel SELLERS, R.S. b. Abt. 1744 in Duplin County, NC, d. August 29, 1799 in Effingham County, GA. Samuel married his cousin, Zilpha SELLERS, in Duplin County, May 11, 1767. they had three know children. Samuel served in the NC militia in the Revolutionary War, and a few years after the war moved to Effingham County, GA. Samuel died in Effingham County in 1799, age about 55 years. His will dated August 29, 1794 was probated in that county on May 11, 1799, the widow and children (who by that time had married), moved to Tattnall County, where she died. Samuel and Zilpha three children were: John SELLERS b. Abt. 1770 in Duplin County, NC, married Jane CARTER July 28, 1798 in Bulloch County, GA. moved to Appling County, GA. (my g.g.g.grandparents) Samuel SELLERS b. Abt. 1775 in Duplin County, NC, married Mary BISHOP; moved to Appling County, GA. Penelope SELLERS b. Abt. 1777 in Duplin County, NC, married John STATEN on August 08, 1794. I would like very much to have a copy of Samuel's will that was probated May 11, 1799 in Effingham County and any other information that anyone might have on this family. Your help is greatly appreciated. bp
