Lisa, Benjamin Tipton, my gg-grandfather, was the first minister of Open Pond church. It was Freewill Baptist. One of my Tipton cousins, Patsy, went there last year. She said that the church is no longer there, but the cemetery is. If you email me privately, I'll send you her email address, and maybe she can give you better directions to the cemetery. When I was in Donaldsonville, summer before last, I found a bit of information on the church in a book about the history of the Freewill Baptist Church in GA and in the History of Early (?) County which contained Miss Dot Harvey's info on Open Pond Church on page 182-4. I also visited Jo Webb whose book on Linkage has information on the Tipton family and others. I don't have the book, but I made copies of pages that were on my lines. On page 380 of Linkage, Jo has Jordan B. McCullers as marrying first, Nancy Walker, and second, Delilah Brown(also in my line). In fact, there are at least a couple of other connections between my Merritts, Tiptons, Browns, and the Jordan McCullers family. I must have missed your earlier post. How are you descended through Jordan McCullers? Mitzi mitzi@cncnet.com
