I am reading microfilm of The Cuthbert Appeal 10 Jan 1873-1 Sept 1876. [Randolph Co GA newspaper] >From 21 Nov 1873 "The Blakely News notices the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Sheffield, aged 94 years, 10 months and 13 days. She was born December 5, 1778. She leaves 3 sons, 4 daughters, 23 grandsons, 21 granddaughters, 71 great grandsons, 60 great-granddaughters, 5 great great grandsons, and 5 great great granddaughters to mourn her loss. Four sons, 22 grandsons, 18 [or 13?/type not clear] granddaughters, 15 great grandsons, 6 great granddaughters, and 2 great great grandsons had died before her. She had 1 son, 24 grandsons, and 1 great grandson in the Confederate army. Of these 1 grandson was killed, 8 died in service, 2 lost a leg each, 3 were severely wounded, and 1 slightly wounded. Mrs S. moved from Pulaski to this county in the year 1819." Enjoy! This is not my family. I will also post it to the Early Co GA obituary page. Lindy
